‘Tache for cash raises £365 for charity

Six employees from Focus Integrated Marketing Communications spent the 30 days of November cultivating moustache masterpieces to raise awareness of prostate and testicular cancer. In addition to being walking, talking advertisements for men’s health, the ‘Focus Integrated Mo Bros’ raised £365 for charity through donations from colleagues, friends and family.

The competition to grow the best moustache was fierce, with the ‘Focus Integrated Mo Bros’ taking pride in their new facial furniture. Famous moustache wearing heroes were emulated and a meticulous grooming regime followed to maintain the finest facial hair.

The Movember movement, which originated in Melbourne, Australia, sees millions of men worldwide come together to help change attitudes and habits relating to men’s health. According to statistics, one in nine men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer and around 2,000 new cases of testicular cancer are diagnosed each year.

James Mercer, Managing Director at Focus Integrated Marketing Communications, said: “Movember is an excellent campaign which raises awareness of a serious issue. It caused quite a stir in the office and brought the whole team together. I expect most of the guys are glad to have had a shave but we definitely miss their moustaches!

“I would like to congratulate everybody who took part and thank the generous sponsors who supported our Mo Bros.”
