Seminar reveals 64% of businesses do not have a social media strategy
An Essex-based creative communications agency has educated 50 business leaders from East Anglia, London and beyond on social media strategy. The seminar, which was hosted on Friday 18th March by Focus Integrated Marketing Communications, also discovered that despite 82% of businesses having a social media presence, 64% do not have a social media strategy in place.
Delegates included directors and communications professionals from organisations such as Taylor Wimpey, e2v, Premier Training International, Genting Casinos, Countryside Properties, Fenn Wright, Crimestoppers, Westminster City Council and The Independent newspaper.
They heard what the future may hold for social media, discussed crowdsourcing techniques and how to implement a social media campaign within an existing marketing mix. In addition, two interactive sessions utilised specially designed monitoring software to demonstrate how to gain real-time market intelligence from a number of social media platforms and the advantages this has for businesses.
James Mercer, Managing Director at Focus Integrated Marketing Communications, said: “Social media is still in its infancy and many organisations are unaware of how to fully utilise this unique marketing channel. The results of our survey reveal a worrying number of businesses are engaging with social media without knowing exactly what it is they want to achieve or how they are going to achieve it.
“We possess an in-depth knowledge of social media strategy and implementation and wanted to share this expertise to ensure businesses are aware of the most important considerations when planning and implementing a social media campaign.”
The company plans to host future free-to-attend seminars at their office near Colchester. To register your interest please contact Thomas Cook at Focus Integrated Marketing Communications via email thomas.cook@focusintegrated.co.uk or telephone 01376 574 800.
