I find myself regularly discussing the merits of banner advertising with digital marketing experts and clients. The discussions usually start due to some sort of “innovation” in display that gets people discussing it again or during brainstorming options at the beginning of a campaign. Irrespective of how it starts it tends to end with a tirade from me about how much I hate the current state of banner advertising, with its lack of creativity and typically awful results.

Most people might not give fonts much thought; the only time the decision on what font to use comes up when using software like Microsoft Word or Excel. There are plenty of great fonts that come pre-installed on our computers but there are also premium fonts for sale online as well as free fonts. Using a different font from the usual 'Times New Roman' or 'Arial' can really help your letter or spreadsheets stand out. It can only take this subtle change to make a real difference.
